Review Santa Fe Symposium FAQs

Q: HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO ATTEND REVIEW SANTA FE? IS THE SUBMISSION FEE PART OF THE REGISTRATION FEE?

A: Available to invited participants only, the Review Santa Fe Tuition is $855 for CENTER Members OR $895 for General Non-Members. Installment payments are accepted and due on or before the provided dates stated in your invitation. If you are paying installments, the first payment is due immediately after confirmation of your attendance. The general payment plan includes 3 installments, submitted 3 weeks apart. Please contact us directly for personalized payment plans and invoicing.

HOW MANY REVIEWS WILL I RECEIVE?

A: Tuition includes up to nine 20-minute formal reviews over two days.

Q: HOW LONG ARE THE PORTFOLIO REVIEW SESSIONS EACH DAY?

A: Each session is about 4 hours, one on Friday and two on Saturday; you will have approximately three meetings on Friday and six meetings on Saturday.

Q: HOW MANY BREAKS DO WE HAVE DURING EACH REVIEW SESSION?

A: There is a 5-minute break between each meeting, along with an hour+ break for lunch on both days.

Q: WILL I HAVE A CHOICE OF WHICH REVIEWERS I WILL SEE?

A: Yes, you will be asked to put all reviewers in order of your preference into an electronic lottery system. It is likely you will receive at least one reviewer from your top 3 reviewer picks, a few more reviewers from your 4-8 ranking picks, and a few more reviewers from your 9-15 ranking selections on your list. It is possible to get one reviewer lower on your list, but very unlikely and not more than one.

Q: WHEN DO I CHOOSE MY REVIEWERS?

A: After you have been invited, you will have the opportunity to enter in your reviewer preferences approximately two weeks prior to the event.

Q: WHEN WILL I KNOW MY PORTFOLIO REVIEW SCHEDULE?

A: You will receive an email that includes details of your specific schedule around November 13.

Q: ARE THERE PRINT SIZE RESTRICTIONS OR REQUIREMENTS FOR THE REVIEWS?

A: Prints of any size are welcome as long as they do not exceed 55 inches. Each artist is responsible for their own prints, portfolios, books, etc., during the events, and staff are unable to provide assistance moving or showcasing your work.

Q: CAN I SHOW MORE THAN ONE PORTFOLIO DURING MY REVIEW SESSIONS?

A: Yes, you can showcase more than one series, however, as the reviewers are expecting to see work that was pre-juried into Review Santa Fe, we ask that you first showcase the juried portfolio, and if you have extra time, you may showcase the other portfolio(s).

Q: DO YOU SUGGEST I BRING MULTIPLE SETS OF PRINTS, ONE FOR THE REVIEWS AND OTHERS FOR THE PORTFOLIO WALK?

A: As people will be touching your prints, please keep in mind that your prints may come back with dents, fingerprints, creases, marks, or cuts, after each event. We encourage each artist to consider their own preferences and plan accordingly.

Q: WILL THERE BE ANY A-LA-CARTE REVIEWS AVAILABLE?

A: Availability is dependent on photographer cancellations, and we are unable to predict those until the morning of each review session. Costing $45/per review, payment will be required at sign-up by cash or credit card.
