Review Santa Fe
For more than 20 years, the Review Santa Fe Photo Symposium has provided opportunities for photographers and lens-based artists to expand their audiences, engage in critical discussions and connect with their community. One of the country’s original juried portfolio review events, Review Santa Fe marks its 23rd year in November 2024.
Our premier program serves local, national and international constituents, offering portfolio reviews with esteemed industry professionals from such organizations as National Geographic, The Washington Post, Harvard Art Museums, the Phoenix Museum of Art and many more. For non-participating photographers and photo enthusiasts, Review Santa Fe includes a public exposition and book fair, scholar lectures and more. Please refer to our event schedule for details.
FREE AND PUBLIC ACCESS • Please join us in person in Santa Fe, NM, for the Portfolio Walk and Book Fair on Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Santa Fe Farmers’ Market Pavilion. On Sunday, CENTER’s 2024 award winners and grant recipients make their public Project Presentations downtown at the La Fonda on the Plaza Hotel.
INVITED PHOTOGRAPHERS • Each year during CENTER’s Call for Entries, lens-based artists from across the globe submit their work for consideration. An independent selection committee ranks projects, and the highest-scoring work receives invitations to participate in Review Santa Fe. All invited artists receive up to nine 20-minute Portfolio Reviews with the Reviewers, inclusion in the Portfolio Walk Public Exposition, Private Receptions, and inclusion in the Photographers Listing & Archive.

Portfolio Walk & Book Fair
Each year the Review Santa Fe Portfolio Walk & Book Fair brings together a global network of 100 selected lens-based artists and 50+ representatives from museums, publications, book publishers and media outlets.
For one night only, this lively event creates a rare opportunity to engage with a broad range of vetted photographic and lens-based projects and the artists behind the work. The work on view encompasses some of today’s most pressing social, environmental and political issues, along with stellar contemporary art projects.
In addition to the artworks on display, notable photographic book publishers, indie publications, and art books will be showcased. Newly released publications will be for sale by publishers including Axle Contemporary, Bella Forte Designs, Blurb, Dear Dave, Magazine, HurleyMedia, Photographic Center Northwest, Saint Lucy Books, Santa Fe Workshops, University of New Mexico Art, Luminosity Labs: Workshop Arts, ZEKE Magazine and others.

Project Presentations
Each year, CENTER recognizes photographic excellence and innovative contributions to the field through its Awards and Project Grants. As part of CENTER’s career advancement packages, these selected photographers are invited to discuss their projects and processes in a public forum during the Review Santa Fe Photo Symposium at the annual Project Presentations.
On Sunday, November 3, photographer and CENTER Board Vice President Evan Anderman, Ph.D., moderates an intimate discussion and audience Q&A with CENTER’s 2024 Award and Project Grant winners.
