CENTER has a new photography gallery space in Santa Fe, and the inaugural exhibition is being co-curated by Mary Anne Redding. She has a long involvement with CENTER and is the senior curator at The Turchin Center for the Visual Arts in North Carolina. Rubenstein is one of four artists in the exhibition. All four are past CENTER awardees and explore issues of the nuclear weapons industry, including science, mining, testing, and effects on local communities of all phases of the nuclear weapons complex, here in New Mexico and afar. Matthew Chase-Daniel talks with the artist and the curator about the work in the show, the artists, and the importance of addressing the important fallout of the industry in our communities.
