Dear Erin Hart documents Jessamyn Lovell’s pursuit of Erin Hart, the woman who used Lovell’s NM driver’s license to commit petty crimes. Once Lovell was able to clear her name of the charges she began her own investigation to find the San Francisco-based woman. She spent two years following the paper trail of her case, photographing places she had been or seen, her past addresses, and where she committed the crimes using Lovell’s identity.

Lovell hired a private investigator to finally locate Erin Hart in San Francisco County jail and to help follow her after her release from jail. Lovell began this pursuit as a way to understand the course of events that brought their lives together.
